First Day of School in San Dimas

Here in San Dimas school started today, so we were up at six thirty this morning for the first day of school.

Summer vacation was nice, waking up without an alarm clock everyday was nice. But the solitude of having no children at home is also a plus.

My kids started school yesterday. I took the day off work to take them in the morning, then I went home and enjoyed some "alone" time. When they came home in the afternoon, I got to sit and listen to the blow-by-blow of the first day events. Since my each of my children were starting at new schools (high school for my son and junior high for my daughter) they had SO MUCH to tell me! Then it was off to Office Max to buy school supplies (good thing my kids are in public school--I can barely afford all the supplies they needed)!

I really prefer when the kids are on vacation; not having homework, deadlines and bedtimes is so much more fun!

I don't envy you nor Bluesangel. In a sense, that episode is over for me. However, I do have grandkids, nieces, godchildren, etc., and they all look to me to take up the slack that their parents can't afford. Just sent my daughters money for school, as well as my niece. Gets to be REALLY expensive! And I was silly enough to THINK those days were over for me! Go figure:-)

Off to San Diego. Have a great week.
