Dear Mr. "GOD THAT WAS A FUNNY WEBSITE"

I am curious what you found so funny. Could you please give me some examples? If there is anything misleading can you please share it with me? This election means a lot to my future and my ability to care for my family. Don't dump on something because you don't agree with it. Grow up, this isn't a game.

Maybe the Save our trade site could show some examples of other contracts besides newsday that are better than or even close to what we get at the times. After all the union mantra is "get it in writing", lets see some of the claims union supporters make "in writing", lets see those contracts. Yes newsday people have gotten siging bonuses but at whose expense?? They dont tell you that some people were laid off as a result of that do they? They did decrease their crew manning also. Their crew sizes are not much different than ours. They list pressroom helpers in the contract but no one knows what their job is. I doubt they are part of the crew. They may be press cleaners for all we know. Lower seniority people should be concerned as unions have a history of selling them out through layoffs to appease the remaining employees. A good example is the grocery industry and the two tier wage and benefit system. Yes we have had crew manning cuts and the closure of the valley plant. These were out of economic necessity. Our circulation numbers clearly could not support a case for three plants anymore. The 20 percent profit margin will prove to be unsustainable as circulation falls and the advertising rate cuts that will have to follow it. Unions dont stop plants from closing just ask people familiar with the automotive industry. Things are not perfect at the times but no one seems to leave either. We still have a great job. The pension freeze is going on all over the country in all size businesses. Unions arent stopping that either. Come to your senses and VOTE NO!

Question why is our service shops not interested in union. And why do they wonder why some press people would want it in. Most machine shop and electric shop members envy press peoples job and are a bit jealous. A great place to earn a living not working to hard most of the time. Are you little R.............

Ed,
Whoever wrote that long comment really hit the nail on the head. It is a very lucid, intelligent, and well-thought out response.
The other "Anonymous" comment about this "Isn't a game" is more true than most people realize.
This is for real and it affects EVERYONE"S future.
