In Memory of William Robert Miller



Sunrise: August 8, 1919 ~ Sunset: April 4, 2008

William Robert Miller was born in Rockdale, Texas to Hammit and Octavia Crayton Miller as the fourth of eight children. Attended and graduated from Aycock High School and was a member of the football team.

William received Christ at an early age and was baptized at the New Hope Baptist Church in Rockdale. For eight years he attended the Upper Room Christian Center under the leadership of Rev. Reginald Jones, and served as the Sunday School Assistant.

William also served in the U.S. Army, and received an honorable discharge after serving two years.

In 1949 William met and married Georgella Miller, who preceded him in death. Children joined through this marriage are Marie, Emily, Thurman, and Bobbie.

William worked for Wells Fargo Bank for over forty years as a mail clerk, handling all mail coming into the bank.

He loved family gatherings, watching television, especially Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. He was extremely lovable and even tempered.

Those who preceded him in death; His wife, Georgella Miller, his mother and father, Hammitt and Octavia; son, William R. Miller Jr.; sister, Willie Sanders; brothers, Vinson, Tony, and Hammitt Miller.

William leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving daughter, Marie Miller Boone, Emily and Thurman (Margaret) Jackson; sisters Betty Wilson and Louise Taylor; brother Bogus Miller (Jewelean); grandchildren Patrice Boone-Herrod, Rodney Daniels (Chuvlea), Deion Daniels, Charles Moore, Cherona, Thurman Eric, and Monique; great-grandchildren, Dyamond, Deion, Zachery, Megan, Marquell, Marshe, Marshan, and a host of nieces, newphews, and other relatives and friends.

The family gave special thanks to the men and women of the Los Angeles Fire Department, station 46, in their valiant efforts to rescue William and his daughter Marie from the fire that took Williams life.
