Magazine Previews for us to Print


As we prepare for the end of the Highway section, a question came to my mind. Why have we allowed mediocrity to settle in our company? Here are a few interesting numbers that I pulled from a 2003 ABC poll. There were 21 car magazines that were printed in that year, the collective draw of all of these magazines was a little over 8 Million subscribers. Looking at the numbers for all of these magazines should put a good sales man to work. Why not contact all of the Car magazines that are printed in the USA, and provide a service to them, by creating a buzz in our local area for some of these regional magazines? If we were allowed to print a preview section of content that will be launched by each magazine a week before the release of that months issue, you are taking an oportunity by creating a Buzz within the car community, helping certain demographics get the message of certain stories that would otherwise be lost to non magazine readers, and allow the Times the opportunity to establish itself as the source of previews for ALL car magazines, or all magazines for that matter? I guess cutting jobs and printing less paper is what makes sense to our Higher paid owners. We as the lower class owners seem to have great ideas, but since we are not vested with millions of dollars, we will always just have to take it in the A%$.
