Save the Los Angeles Times Campaign

Brett Levy brought this to our attention, which makes me wonder why this is the first time I've heard of this campaign, backed by thousands, according to the advertising blitz. Anyway, if you would like to throw away money, I mean donate money for this cause click on donate or visit the link at the bottom of this interesting story. I'm certain the new Tribune Company, fresh out of bankruptcy, will be swayed and not accept any offer from the Koch Brothers. Edward

The Next Level: Advertising Blitz

Thousands of people are fighting to save the Los Angeles Times from the Koch brothers.

That's great news, but it's not enough. We're taking this campaign to the next level -- we MUST make sure the Tribune Company hears us. We won't stand for the Koch brothers turning the Los Angeles Times into the next Fox News.

We need $5000 to get this ad into the LA Times. Many Times readers don't even know that their newspaper is in danger.

The Tribune Company needs to know -- you won't stand for another Fox News. Contribute now to get this ad published. Your tax-deductible donation will make a huge difference.

What do you remember of the history of the LA Times?

I remember the days in the 70's and 80's when presidents would visit the newspaper, and even the pope himself. When circulation was 1,200,000 daily and 1,500,00 on Sundays. Or when advertising had to be turned down due to the lack of free time slots to produce additional pages.
