Fired cartoonist’s work to be displayed in Washington

Editorial cartoons blasting Pres. Trump that the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette declined to publish will go on exhibit in Washington, The Washington Post reported.
The 18 cartoons by Rob Rogers are to be shown at George Washington University’s Corcoran School of the Arts & Design.
Rogers was fired from the paper following a decision from the newspaper’s editorial director, Keith Burris, not to use six of Rogers’ cartoons in May, Rogers told Philly.com. Rogers has had 19 cartoons and ideas rejected since Burris came on in March, most of them negative toward President Trump, Philly.com reported.
“Sad to report this update: Today, after 25 years as the editorial cartoonist for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, I was fired,” read a tweet from Rogers.
In a statement to The Washington Post before Rogers’ termination, Post-Gazette Publisher John Robinson Block said issues between the cartoonist and his bosses “has little to do with politics, ideology or Donald Trump. It has mostly to do with working together and the editing process.”
