Editorial Cuts at the Los Angeles Times

As my co-workers and I chatted on the patio yesterday before the start of our shift, it was brought to my attention that many in the pressroom were under the false impression that Dean Baquet had resigned from the newspaper in protest. Well Mr. Baquet has not resigned, YET!

I say yet, because the actual number of editorial staff to be reduced has not been announced at this time, but when the numbers are indeed made public we may see many changes at the editorial level.

The Los Angeles Times is by far the largest money maker for the Tribune Company, to further erode the staff would reduce the quality of this great newspaper.

Let's hope we do not outsource our writers to other cities.
