Timesman Injured in Auto Accident

Just took a phone call from Guillermo (Benny) Benavides, he gave me the details of his run-in with a car while in a crosswalk. He is uncertain on the procedure needed to mend his damaged knee until he meets with his doctor again. Guillermo said he could be off a few weeks to a few months if surgery is needed.

He was thrown onto the hood of the car making a right turn as he stepped off the curb when the walk sign appeared, and then dropped to the pavement when the car slammed on the brakes, with all his weight centered to his knee on impact with the street.

Guillermo works as a pressman at the Olympic Facility and his absence will be felt in the pressroom.

Let's hope he's back on his feet soon.

Get well my friend,
Eddie
