Another American Institution is closing it's doors as the Internet changes the way we do business. After forty-six years in the music business, Tower Records was sold to a liquidator, that will close all the stores and layoff 3,000 employees.
I remember driving to the Hollywood store some thirty years ago, just to look at all the different music they offered.
But I can not remember the last time I crossed the doorway into a Tower Records, so I'm to blame in part for their demise. I buy all of my music from BMG online, and at times download music from the Internet, when I can not locate the artist I'm seeking from BMG.
Lets hope the newspaper business fares better than Tower Records in the future.
