Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that Larry Belkin will be joining us as our new Security Manager, effective Monday, November 12th. Larry has an extensive background in the security field, most recently serving as Senior Manager of Global Security Systems at the Walt Disney Company (where he’s been for the last ten years). Prior to that, he worked for City National Bank as Vice President/Senior Security Officer.
Larry started in the field in 1985 as Loss Prevention Manager at Saks Fifth Avenue and moved on to a similar role as a District Manager for Loss Prevention at Ross, Inc. Larry has a degree in political science from California State University, as well as a law degree from Los Angeles School of Law.
In his new role here at The Times, Larry will, among other things, oversee security services for employees at The Square, Olympic, and Orange County facilities; work closely with TV and movie crews that film at our various locations; provide contract security for our reporters in high threat areas, such as Iraq; and manage all aspects of event security.
Please join me in welcoming Larry to The Times.
Russ
