Another Round of Buyouts at the Tribune Company
It was not much of a surprise to learn four-hundred to five-hundred Tribune Company employees will be leaving the company through buyouts, and or layoffs by March of this year. Many greet the news with cheer as they have had enough of the stress occuring in the workplace under the old Tribune management, that is still in place.
The Los Angeles Times will shed between one-hundred to one-hundred fifty employees, which forty to fifty will come from the editorial department. The pressroom employees will not be affected, as we are in union negotiations at this time, but pressroom foremen could and may be hit with this latest round of buyouts.
According to Sam Zell the cuts are aimed at corporate staff at the companies nine newspapers, with the television stations not touched, as of this moment.
Our three Tribune Bosses at Olympic will be sorely missed by all my colleagues and myself when they take the latest buyout from the company.
Stay tuned for additional information throughout the day.

ReplyDeleteOr maybe only pool tables!!!
Keep smiling, Sam will.....
I wonder what all the people that thought Sam was so cool and were laughing at his jokes last week are thinking about him now?
ReplyDeleteThe animated gif was aimed at Sam Zell, not certain if the sender works for the Tribune or not?
