Kodak Platesetter Beta Testing at Los Angeles Times

Kodak’s Generation News Platesetter has been installed at the Los Angeles Times Olympic Facility for beta testing. With an output of three hundred plates per hour, using a computer-to-plate system, several of the processes currently employed will be eliminated. Scheduled to go online this Friday for a live test, if all systems are communicating.

Not certain if this new technology will eliminate jobs in the Plate Making Department at this time. Additional photographs will be uploaded to Flickr shortly.
