Los Angeles Times reporters for salary information on public officials in the small city of Bell blossomed into a scandal that has captivated readers nationwide. Reporters
Jeff Gottlieb and
Ruben Vives broke the story that disclosed Bell's city manager was being paid $787,637 a year. Come hear them tell "How we got that story" next Thursday evening, Aug. 26, at the Los Angeles Press Club.
