With so many employees abandoning the Los Angeles Times the
past few weeks I can only wonder if this is part of the $100 million in budget
slashing on the newspaper side of the Tribune Company?
After speaking with two reporters yesterday I learned no
voluntary separation packages are being offered to other departments, other than
Operations at the newspaper, at this time.
Maybe it's just coincidental that so many are leaving the
newspaper at this moment, or do they know something that's not being shared, as
everyone is being tight lipped as to what's going on internally at the
newspaper.
The outlook for photographers at the newspaper is rather ominous
as colleagues at other newspapers are being replaced by reporters with iPhones.
Stay tuned as we watch what transpires at a Tribune
newspaper near you.
