As of January 1st, 2016 the cost of purchasing a single issue of the daily Los Angeles Times (Monday through Saturday) increased from
$1.50 to $2.00, with the Sunday edition at
$3.00 from $2.00.
As advertisers and readers seek alternatives to the hard copy of the newspaper, costs of producing the paper will be passed onto the consumers.
When the Sunday Los Angeles Times increased its price from $2.00 to $3.00 and putting the Real Estate section now in the Saturday edition, I stopped purchasing it. I hope others will follow as 3.00 is way too much. I can get coupons & rea l estate online. I would enjoy purchasing the paper again if they lower their price & include the Real Estate section. I feel, in the long run, they will go bankrupt because of their action.
