Are you an experienced Press Operator seeking a new opportunity? Our commercial print facility is home to our well maintained and latest vintage Goss Colorliner Press consisting of 8 - 4/4 Towers and 3 Goss 160PG Sovereign Rotary folders. The Press Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the press on an assigned shift as part of the crew in printing newspaper products. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of offset printing experience, or a combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the job. Candidates with knowledge of all aspects of operating a daily newspaper offset printing press is beneficial, along with holding supplemental training in the printing trade. Other skills include ability to set color, registration, make and install plates, lead sheets and operate reel room equipment. Candidates should have demonstrated mechanical and troubleshoot ability, along with relevant computer and math skills. You must have the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, team environment.
This position requires ability to work a flexible schedule as necessary. Position requires night shift, weekends and holiday work. This position is located primarily in a production environment with elevated noise levels requiring personal protective equipment. Physical nature of job requires ability to stand throughout shift, use of stairs, ability to lift up to 80 lbs and ability to move rolls of newsprint on carts. In addition, correct color vision for checking color quality of products is critical.
