3 Women Accused Of Stealing Newspapers For The Coupons

Three St. Lawrence County women are accused of stealing more than 100 newspapers so they could get the coupons.
Gouverneur Police Department identifies them as:
- Brenda Ingram, age 43, Gouverneur
- Kelsey Austin, age 19, Gouverneur
- Mary Sawyer, age 39, Newton Falls
The women turned themselves in for allegedly stealing 111 copies of the Watertown Daily Times, valued at $277.50.
On March 2, the newspapers were delivered to the Kinney Drugs Store at 371 East Main Street in the village.  
A worker told police a vehicle pulled up after delivery, several people got out and stole the newspapers.
According to police, the intent of the theft was to collect the coupons contained within the newspapers.
Each woman was charged with petit larceny and released with an appearance ticket returnable to Gouverneur Town Court.
