Bruce James Vaughan Rest in Peace

Bruce James Vaughan, 71 years of age, passed on to be with Jesus on March 27, 2018, at Kindred Hospital in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, after a long illness. He was born on November 10, 1946, in Marion, OH, to Robert James and Juanita Gladys Vaughan. Bruce grew up in Marion, OH, graduating from Pleasant High School of Marion, OH, in 1964. He joined the United States Navy and was stationed aboard the USS Hollister (DD 788), from 1965-1969, and provided Combat Naval Gunfire Support off of the Coast of Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Bruce was employed by the Los Angeles Times, Orange County Division, retiring as Power Plant Supervisor after 30 years. Bruce wed Judy Belle Blain in 1969, after a three week whirlwind courtship; a loving marriage which lasted 48 years. They were members of Calvary Chapel in Lake Elsinore, CA. He belonged to the VFW MC as well as the Warriors of Honor MC (Veteran Motorcycle Clubs) and was active in support of the Barstow Veteran's Home of CA, through donations gathered by fellow club members. Bruce is survived by his spouse Judy Vaughan of Kilbourne, OH; his son Robert (Amy) Vaughan of Newbury Park, CA; his son David Vaughan of Lake Elsinore, CA; his daughter Gina Vaughan of Lake Elsinore, CA; his sister Catherine Evans of Mt. Gilead, OH; his sister Barbara Vaughan of Katy, TX; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren (with two more expected soon); three nieces; a nephew, and numerous cousins. Services will be held at Evans Brown Mortuary, 126 E. Graham Ave., Lake Elsinore, CA, on April 4, 2018. There will be a Viewing from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM and a Memorial Service from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Burial with Navy Honors will take place at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA, at 1:45 PM. A Reception is to take place at the VFW Post 1508, located at 21180 Waite St., Wildomar, CA, from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
