The Daily Republic drops Monday print edition

The Daily Republic (Mitchell, South Dakota) is dropping its Monday print edition, starting Sept. 17, the paper announced. The paper will publish a Monday electronic edition. Print editions will still be delivered to subscribers Tuesday through Saturday.
“Rapid increases in newsprint prices, driven by recent and substantial tariffs, have caused as much as a 30-percent increase in material costs,” the paper wrote.
The paper doesn’t plan to reduce rates with the change. Its last subscription rate increase was in 2013, the paper said.
Forum Communications Company owns the paper.
