Sports Illustrated, Fortune and Money, which Meredith is
selling, may be on track to a sale with a group including billionaire Dan
Gilbert and motivational speaker Tony Robbins, sources told The New York Post.
The Post
report didn’t include details on the price being negotiated, but said Des
Moines-based Meredith hoped to get at least $500 million in selling the titles.
One thing
being considered is further cutting Sports Illustrated editions, according to
the Post. The sports publication was reduced to 26 issues earlier this year.
Meredith
announced Sept. 16 that it has agreed to sell the Time media brand to Marc and
Lynne Benioff for $190 million in cash. The transaction was expected to close
within 30 days.
