The Boston Herald has told 14 employees that
they are losing their jobs, The Boston Globe and others reported.
Donna Marks, local president of the union representing most of the cut staff, said a few were told to depart right away, and the rest will go by December, according to The Globe. She said most who were cut were part of the news staff. Four people from the ad department are also losing their jobs.
The staff will
number around 100 after the cuts, she said, The Globe reported.
Denver-based Digital First Media acquired the paper in spring 2018. DFM is owned by New York-based hedge fund Alden Global Capital.
