Daytona Beach paper offering Daytona 500-themed streaming radio

The Daytona Beach News-Journal and owner GateHouse Media are bringing fans a popup streaming radio station centered on the Feb. 17 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. The station will launch Feb. 9.
Speedweek Radio is presented by AdventHealth. It can be found at SpeedweekRadio.com or at the newspaper’s website, news-journalonline.com.
The station will feature live Speedway coverage by Motorsports Editor Godwin Kelly, columnist Ken Willis, reporter “Nitro” Nikki Ross and other material, the paper says.
Rob Connelly, director of digital audio for GateHouse Media, said the popup radio concept will be used by GateHouse for major happenings across the nation, including the Austin City Limits Festival and Florida-Georgia football game.
“But this one, Speedweek Radio, is special because it is our first attempt at this,” Connelly said. “We can’t wait to get it going.”
