New York Times stops posting to its Snapchat channel

The New York Times is no longer posting to its Snapchat channel, Digiday reports. The paper had been posting to the channel weekdays. The last edition on the channel is for Dec. 21, 2018, according to Digiday.
NYT started on Snapchat in April 2017. It had been posting stories as well as a smaller version of the paper’s well-known crossword feature. The Times had around 10 people handling the Snapchat Discover channel. The Times didn’t spell out a reason for ceasing with the channel, Digiday says.
“We’re happy with what we have built for Discover, which has helped us reach millions of young readers each month. We’re actively working on some new ideas that will best represent The Times on the platform,” a New York Times spokesperson told Digiday.
A Snap spokesperson said Snap is talking with the Times about a possible launch of something else on the platform, Digiday says, such as a Snapchat video show, the spokesperson said.
