Southern Tier
Hemp announced Feb. 5 that it’s buying a former Gannett printing plant in Johnson City , New
York . The 100,000-square-foot facility will become
the headquarters for Southern Tier Hemp as the company develops, manufactures
and sells hemp cannabidiol (CBD) products worldwide, according to the company.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Southern Tier Hemp's headquarters will be the largest hemp
processing facility in New York
State , according to the
company.
The company will hire more than 100 workers at its new location
during the next three years, according to a release on the facility. Its
processing facility will produce a range of CBD products including superfoods,
body care creams, supplements and lotions. The company was awarded a $650,000
grant from New York
State for hemp
development, which will be used towards the construction of the processing
center, the company says.
The facility formerly printed the Press & Sun-Bulletin, the
Elmira Star-Gazette and The Ithaca Journal.
