As a result of Burgess Industries Incorporated having
recently ceased normal business operations, NELA USA has made moves to become a
fully capable, full-service supplier of pre-press printing plate preparation
and handling equipment for the graphic arts industry, the company press release
said.
NELA USA
has acquired a majority of Burgess Industries’ spare parts inventory.
Steven O’Daniel, responsible for the development of Burgess
equipment software and automation programming, has joined NELA USA as a
software and automation manager. In addition, Rob Carol, a field service
technician with many years of experience on Burgess equipment, has joined the
NELA USA team, the company said.
These additions, along with NELA’s current staff, will allow
NELA to service, offer upgrades and spare parts to NELA equipment and Burgess
Industries equipment as well, the company says. NELA USA understands that much of this
equipment is still being fully utilized and has not yet reached end-of-life.
“We are very pleased to make this announcement and I am very
confident that NELA USA is well equipped to handle all of your printing plate
preparation and handling needs moving forward, be it service, parts, upgrades
or modifications,” said Bob Barton, managing director of NELA USA.
