A reporter at the St. Paul Pioneer Press says cuts are on
the horizon at the paper.
“The PiPress will cut 6 to 8 jobs company-wide
in coming weeks as it seeks volunteers for buyouts,” reporter Nick Woltman
tweeted Feb. 28. “Layoffs likely if they don’t get enough,” the tweet said.
There was also a report of changes at the
Boulder Daily Camera (Colorado ).
The position of executive editor may be permanently eliminated, according to Westword.
The position had been filled by Kevin Kaufman,
who died of cancer in February at age 62.
New York-based Alden Global Capital owns both
papers.
