Daytona Beach News-Journal printing press to close

A subsidiary of Gatehouse Media has filed a letter with Florida's Department of Economic Opportunity announcing plans to shut down its press at
The Daytona Beach News-Journal, according to WJCT, public broadcasting of Jacksonville.
CA Florida Holdings filed the notice, WJCT reported.
The letter says as many as 79 News-Journal employees will be affected in the shuttering.
“The reason for this restructuring is print consolidation due to industry challenges,” the letter said.
The job cuts may happen or start in June or July, the letter said.
