Help for the journey - The Pfaffinger Foundation

By Brett Levy

With several recent deaths, I decided to contact the Pfaffinger Foundation to see if the nonprofit for LATers also helps survivors. The answer is not only "yes," but they have a program to assist with funeral expenses when there is financial need.
On another note, Pfaffinger has created a new Discretionary fund to help those who would no longer be eligible to receive aid from the Foundation. The primary benefit is to help with medical expenses.
So, if anyone knows the families of those who recently departed or are just struggling in general, please call Pfaffinger at 213-680-7460.

I was in need of help a few years ago. I called them, the bottom line is that if you own a house with some equity in it, and/or have a 401K or IRA. They told me to burn up those funds and maybe they’ll help after that. So they’re a worthless organization for helping employees.
