Organizations get upgrades from ProImage

ProImage is helping several newspaper publishers streamline their prepress operations by upgrading their workflow management systems, a company release said. Part of the processes is ProImage’s new generation of its production workflow system, NewsWayX.
NewsWayX controls and manages production workflow from a variety of front-end systems through to output, according to the company. Using a web browser and fully HTML5 compliant, NewsWayX is able to monitor production status from both origination and print sites, regardless of location , the company says. It supports ICC profiles, PDF as well as Bitmap workflow, imposition and page pairing, according to ProImage, part of multinational Agfa, headquartered in Belgium.
Papers and companies doing upgrades or recently completing them are the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Buffalo News, Lee Enterprises, Tribune Publishing, The New York Times and the Kingsport Times-News (Tennessee).
