ProImage is helping several newspaper publishers
streamline their prepress operations by upgrading their workflow management
systems, a company release said. Part of the processes is ProImage’s new
generation of its production workflow system, NewsWayX.
NewsWayX
controls and manages production workflow from a variety of front-end systems
through to output, according to the company. Using a web browser and fully
HTML5 compliant, NewsWayX is able to monitor production status from both
origination and print sites, regardless of location , the company says. It
supports ICC profiles, PDF as well as Bitmap workflow, imposition and page
pairing, according to ProImage, part of multinational Agfa, headquartered in Belgium .
Papers and companies doing upgrades or recently
completing them are the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Buffalo News, Lee
Enterprises, Tribune Publishing, The New York Times and the Kingsport
Times-News (Tennessee ).
