Paxton buys papers from Sandusky, GateHouse


Paxton Media Group has bought The Grand Haven Tribune (Michigan) and the Lebanon Democrat (Tennessee) from Sandusky Newspapers, the Tribune reported.
Family-owned Paxton Media is headquartered in Paducah, Kentucky. Paxton publishes daily and weekly newspapers in more than 50 communities in the Midwest and South.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“This business combination provides the financial security needed to assure The Grand Haven Tribune will continue to serve its community long into the future,” said David Paxton, president and chief executive officer of Paxton Media Group.
The sale also includes weeklies in Mt. Juliet and Hartsville, Tennessee.
Paxton has also bought The Log Cabin Democrat in Conway, Arkansas, from GateHouse, according to Arkansas Business.
