Florida-based Villages Operating Company is investing in a
Commander CT
6/2 from Koenig & Bauer.
A new, modern production hall is being built
for the triple-wide installation, which features three reelstands, three
printing towers and a folder. This will enable the Commander CT to be expanded further at a
later date.
Delivery of the new newspaper rotary press is
scheduled for the third quarter of 2020.
The centerpiece of the media group is The
Villages Daily Sun newspaper. With a daily circulation of just over 60,000, The
Villages Daily Sun has been enjoying steady growth for years. The group also handles
advertising leaflets, magazines and jobs from external customers.
The automation package includes RollerTronic
roller locks, CleanTronic cylinder wash-up device, color and cutting register
control systems, color measuring and control systems and fully automated plate
changing systems. The Commander CT
is controlled from a new ErgoTronic console with EasyTronic.
