Sweden’s Metro paper to stop doing journalism

Metro, Sweden's largest free newspaper, is stopping all journalistic activities, digital news network The Local reported.
The paper’s outgoing Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Thomas Eriksson backed up reports of the change to public broadcaster SVT last week.
The move means that the editorial employees, including some six journalists, will lose their positions, The Local reports.
Swedish newspaper Expressen reported that going forward, Metro would be a debate site where individuals or companies can pay for the publication of opinion pieces. It will be operated from London, Expressen said.
