Flint Group CPS raising offset ink prices

Flint Group will raise prices on offset inks in Europe, the company announced. Increase amounts vary depending on product lines and technologies based on the raw materials make-up, the company said. The specific increases will be communicated by Flint Group’s sales leadership teams.
The company cited raw material shortages, challenging supply chain conditions and new disruptions as behind the increases. Specifically, it blamed new global environmental legislation being introduced by the International Maritime Organization in 2020 regarding sulfur content in marine fuel oil MARPOL, India and China adopting stricter environmental regulations on pigments and base chemicals manufacturing, and increased freight costs.
CPS Inks is a global Flint Group business unit offering offset and publication gravure inks, blankets and consumables to offset web and offset sheetfed printers. Headquartered in Luxembourg, Flint Group employs some 7,900 people.
