Starting Feb. 1, the Idaho Statesman (Boise ) will no longer produce a printed
newspaper on Saturday and will launch a weekend edition that includes expanded
newspapers on Fridays and Sundays. The newspaper announced the change with a
note to readers from Publisher Rusty Dodge.
The paper
will continue to publish breaking local news to its website and social media
platforms on Saturdays.
In
September, the paper announced that its building on Curtis Road in Boise is for sale.
McClatchy
owns the paper. McClatchy has announced the drop of Saturday print at a number
of its papers recently, including the Fresno Bee, the Modesto Bee (California ), the Myrtle Beach Sun News (South
Carolina ) and the Durham Herald Sun (North Carolina ).
