More than $40,000 committed to Community Impact Newspaper

More than 400 people have committed to give over $40,000 to Community Impact Newspaper during the first two weeks of a new reader-support program, called CI Patron.
Company owners/founders John and Jennifer Garrett announced the initial results April 23.
“I want to thank all of our supporters for the kind comments and support as we have rolled out our new Patron community,” John Garrett said.
Longtime employee Lauren Itz will run the program, with the hope of the reader-support program becoming a long-term strategy for readers to connect with the company in a more meaningful way, the company reported.
Garrett says that 100% of CI Patron contributions after processing costs will go directly to the locally based journalists who produce CI content.
The company is headquartered in Pflugerville, Texas, and says it publishes 35 print editions covering 59 communities. https://communityimpact.com/corporate/blog/business/2020/04/23/community-impact-newspapers-patron-program-announces-initial-results-400-plus-supporters-contribute-over-40000-in-support-of-local-journalism/
