With staff working at home, Wichita Eagle leaving rented space

The Wichita Eagle intends to move from its rented office space in Old Town by the end of April, KMUW reports.

McClatchy owns the paper.

“Everybody at The Eagle has been working from home since last March,” said Michael Roehrman, executive editor of Kansas.com and The Eagle. “And so like a lot of businesses, we realized it didn't make a lot of sense to keep paying for space that wasn't being used.”

Cargill bought the Wichita Eagle building at 825 E. Douglas in 2016. Cargill knocked down the Eagle building and constructed a new facility for its protein business.
