The cost of the Inland Daily Bulletin

Ed,

I just thought you might enjoy hearing about my
experience with the Inland Daily Bulletin this
morning. When I got my latest bill, the annual
cost had been kicked up to about $972, more
than what I pay for the Wall Street Journal. My
check was due on May 19th. I decided to let it
lapse.

They've continued to send the paper so I called customer
service to ask why (I was afraid the carrier might be stuck
with the continued cost). The customer service rep said that
the paper continued to be delivered because this was the "grace period."

I told her to cancel it. She asked why. I told her it was the cost.
She offered a lower rate. I said no, to please cancel it. She offered
an even lover rate, just over $51 for every four weeks. Get this,
in one phone call I realize I'm paying over $400 a year more
than some other subscribers. I declined and said cancel it.
She then asked me how I wished to pay the $51 cost for the
paper delivery since my subscription lapsed!!!!!

I told her I didn't owe them anything.  I wonder what would
happen if they billed me for $51 and I paid it and then launched
a class action suit against them representing everyone who
has been paying an inflated rate?  What do you think?
