Tribune parts with company jet

Tribune Co. has sold its corporate jet as part of its plan to shed $500 million in non-core assets, said a person familiar with the transaction.

Details of the transaction, such as the buyer and sale price, were not available. A Tribune spokesman declined to comment on the matter.

Tribune executives used the plane, which was purchased in 2000, for business and personal travel. The company employed three pilots. It is unknown whether the pilots remain with the company.
