Launch of Triblocal Empowers Citizens

The Chicago Tribune has created a new Internet site or blog called Triblocal, a local community publishing service in Chicago. Starting today on triblocal.com, the public will be able to post articles, photographs and events about their communities and leave comments on articles from other users.

Articles and photographs from the site will be used to develop a print publication that will debut later this year and be distributed with the Chicago Tribune in those communities. Triblocal editorial staff will provide enhanced coverage of these communities both online and in print.

Triblocal is managed by Chicagoland Publishing Company, a subsidiary of Chicago Tribune Company.
