Chicago Tribune to cut 80 newsroom positions


The downZelling is hitting all Tribune Company Newspapers, with editorial staffing falling to levels not seen in many decades. Erica Smith estimated there would be a loss of 6,000 jobs in the newspaper industry this year, she told me the list was 23 away from 6,000 on July 2nd, 2008.
