The Carnage at the Los Angeles Times

The carnage at the Los Angeles Times Olympic Production Facility began early this morning as pressroom shift supervisor Tony Specht was let go. Tony was called in to see Pressroom manager John Walker where the news was broken, and Tony was relieved of his work keys and asked to remove all the contents from his personal locker before leaving the Times property at 3:00 a.m.

Tony is married with two young children and will be missed within the pressroom by his colleagues remaining at the newspaper for the time being.

Tony is also the president of our pressmen’s club, which I hope he continues attending after this devastating development.

We wish the best for Tony and his family in these trying times at the Los Angeles Times.
