Gary Sutter Rest in Peace

From Emmett Jaime on April 6th.

Hello all you Retirees, I hope you are ok and staying home.

I want to pass on a phone call I received from Debbie, Gary’s daughter informing me that Gary passed away yesterday after a bout with cancer. He was 82 years old and leaves behind two daughters, Debbie, and Julie and  his brother. Gary’s wife passed away in 2019.

Gary started at the Times in may of 1957 ,he took a buyout in December, 1987. He’s birthday was in April when he turned 82. Gary started in the downtown plant until the Olympic opened up where he was a PMS specialist.

He was one of the best liked people and was very easy to get along with.

While working at the downtown plant he and his wife would make sandwiches and collect clothing and he would take them to give away to the homeless on Skid row, he was a very generous person as he was always helping his fellow pressmen wherever it was needed.

Because of the situation we are in right now there will be no services. The family does hope to have a Celebration of Life when we are back to normal. I will let you know when and where this might be happened.

If you care to send a condolence card here is the address, I'm sure the family will appreciate it.

Contact Ed Padgett for the family address.
