Firefighters Seek Lemonade... and Hope

Firefighters Seek Lemonade... and Hope

As a rule, members of the Los Angeles Fire Department don't carry much money with them while on duty.

This weekend however, that rule may be bent just a little, as the men and women of the LAFD make room to pay for one of their true passions.

No, we're not talking about chicken, steak or chocolate cake - we're talking lemonade. But not just any lemonade...

During Lemonade Days 2007, Neighborhood Firefighters in Los Angeles and many other communities will be on the lookout for an Alex's Lemonade Stand.

With our genuine soft spot for kids, especially those battling severe illness, we've been deeply moved by Alex's story, and pledge to do our part in fighting childhood cancer, one cup at a time.

We hope you'll join us this weekend in seeking, hosting or donating to an Alex's Lemonade Stand near you!

...and if you have spare change in your pocket or time on Saturday, June 9th, please know there is one Alex's Lemonade Stand dedicated to a very special boy who will forever remain near and dear to our hearts.

I am really touched by this post. Although I won't be able to make it obviously, I live in Texas. I'll do my best to suggest this type of idea to others that want to help the children in my local community. I'm glad I stopped in here at your blog.
