Hearst acquires Connecticut properties: The deal includes the New Haven Register, The Register Citizen, The Middletown Press, Connecticut Magazine, weekly newspapers, niche publications and their websites. The new properties have a reach of more than 470,000 households and 1.4 million unique online visitors, according to a news release. The acquisition expands Hearst Newspapers’ news properties to 22 dailies and 64 weeklies in the U.S.
