The GateHouse-owned Newport Mercury (Newport County, Rhode Island), one of the oldest papers in the U.S., has put out its last weekly edition. The Mercury will return in a few weeks as a monthly special publication in The Newport Daily News. Its content can also be found at newportmercury.com and newportri.com.
