Austin Tice, a freelance journalist, veteran Marine Corps captain, and Georgetown Law student, was detained in Syria in August 2012, three days after his 31st birthday. The U.S. government believes Austin is alive and being held by an affiliate of the Syrian government.
Austin is a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend who has spent more than eight years away from the people who love him. Please join the Tice family in urging the White House to continue to use every diplomatic resource to secure Austin’s safe release and return. Congress has the power to ensure that every effort is being made to bring Austin home.
We have the opportunity right now to help bring him home, and we need every voice possible. Here’s how you can help:
Send a letter to your Members of Congress right now, telling them to sign a letter to President Biden asking him to make it a priority to see Austin returned home to his family safely and soon.
Use this form — it will take less than 60 seconds.
Just enter your information and click “start writing,” we’ve already prepared the letter for you.
After your first representative's name appears, click the drop down for "Your Letter Topic" and select "Armed Forces and National Security." For the other representatives, click the drop down for "Military/Armed Services/Defense" and "Foreign Affairs."
Once you click “Send letter,” you’re done!
Thank you so much for being involved! It’s easy to share this link with others - please do. We need every voice.
