Just learned the sad news that former machinist at the Los Angeles Times, Resty Valenzuela, passed away February 27th, 2021 from complications of Covid-19. Resty was always cheerful when he would come to the pressroom to make repairs on the printing presses, and will be missed by family and friends.
Back in 2019 Resty happened to be visiting the Philippines at the same time as Merly and I, but the distance from our location made it difficult for us to get together.
Resty loved his family, golf, and riding his motorcycle, rest in peace Brother Resty.
