The Southern California News Guild is fast approaching a strike deadline

The organization Tweets:

At the end of an all-day bargaining session yesterday, we told management they have a deadline of 12:01 am, Monday, Nov. 4, to bargain in good faith and present us with an acceptable proposal or we will begin our ULP strike.
After 2+ years of the company’s bad-faith bargaining tactics, including stalling and regressive proposals, we did make progress last night. But it’s not enough yet.
We are prepared to go on a ULP strike just before Election Day if we do not reach a deal.
We invite our allies to join us for a practice picket on Nov. 2 in Santa Ana to show the company, the public, and our co-workers that we are sticking together to win the contract we deserve.
If you want to support @SCNGguild
and our members, we have launched a donation page to help raise funds in the event of a strike.
At the time of this post, $4,586 had been raised for the strike fund:
Funds will go directly to members to make up for wages lost during the strike so these journalists can continue to pay for basic needs.
And:
This is being organized by Destiny Torres and Charlie Vargas, members of the SCNG Guild. Funds will go to newsroom members.
