For 24 years I have been a photojournalist/photographer in Los Angeles
Ca, for 23 of those years my main goal was to document news and history
making events involving all people but especially the Americans-African
people. I have did that to the best of my ability as fairly and as
accurately without bias that I could although because of the unfairness
of mainstream media documenting the story and the images of the
American-African people my goal was to show the American-African people
in the most positive light that I could. Whether it was negative or
positive I have documented the life of the American-African people with
the integrity that one must have to be considered a person of integrity.
During those 24 years I have been asked hundreds of times “why don’t
you have a photo exhibit”? I never really put much thought into it I
was so busy trying to document life and moments. Now because of my
dedication to the youth to give them the same opportunities that I have
had and my organization Minority Photo/Journalism Institute in hopes of
raising awareness about and the positive things American African kids
can do if given the opportunity and to raise funds to continue to teach
the young children of color the very positive and enjoyable profession
of photojournalism, photography and broadcasting I have decided to have
to have a photo exhibit.
The exhibit will take place at the
American-African museum in the Macy’s company on the third floor in the
Crenshaw mall starting April 15 and will run through June as part of the
exhibit my students will also be exhibiting their photography work. I
will soon provide you with information on how you can support the
project.

My Choice Of Weapons
The camera and the gun are both weapons! One was designed to take life
away, with the other you can give hope and renew the life of someone
who because of the way of man the joy of life was taken away! That’s
why the camera is “my choice of weapons”.
