Tuesday afternoon before heading to work I stopped by El Tepeyac's in Monterey Park, only to discover they had closed their doors for good. The original El Tepeyac's, in East Los Angeles, is closed on Tuesday's for cleaning so I occasionally get my Mexican food fix at the Monterey Park location.
Two weeks ago when I went in to the secondary location, I noted the place was a ghost town, and after asking what happened I was told the entire staff had walked out in protest, over the termination of one of the workers.
I have lunch at the original restaurant on Thursday's, so while I'm there I'll ask Manny what happened to his son's place.
